It was only after the earthquake in Haiti, did I take the time to learn about the desperate plight of the Haitian people. The sad thing is that their situation was terrible even before the earthquake happened.  I learned that Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the Caribbean and as the BBC website has put it…”.. an economy in ruins..”  If there were thousands of orphaned and abandoned children before the quake, there are even more so now. That is why I chose SOS Children’s Villages to send my donations to.  SOS Children’s Villages focus is on helping abandoned and orphaned children from countries all over the world. They have schools and centres in the cities where help is needed the most. 

The idea is to put together a cookbook with recipes by contributors like you. Contributors would not only be donating to a good cause, they would also have their own recipe published in a cookbook.
